Certivo Appoints Former GE Vice Chairman and CFO Jeff Bornstein to Board of Directors
Veteran finance and industrial executive brings three decades of experience scaling global manufacturing businesses and operating under intensive regulatory oversight

SEATTLE, Wash. – October 6, 2026 – Certivo, the agentic AI compliance platform for global manufacturers, today announced the appointment of Jeffrey S. Bornstein to its Board of Directors. Bornstein served as Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of General Electric from 2013 to 2017 and spent 28 years in senior finance leadership across GE's industrial and financial businesses.
Bornstein joins as manufacturers contend with a growing list of product compliance obligations, including PFAS reporting under TSCA, extended producer responsibility programs, and state-level chemical disclosure rules, each with its own deadlines, data formats, and enforcement consequences. Most companies still manage these with a patchwork of spreadsheets, consultants, and single-purpose tools, which leaves compliance operating as a cost center and a drag on product launches.
Certivo replaces that patchwork with one system that manages every global compliance regulation and standard from a single view. Its AI agents pull supplier data from any source in any format, validate it, and maintain it continuously, so a manufacturer can start with any regulation, collect evidence once, and report everywhere it's required. Customers reach 100 percent audit readiness in hours rather than months and cut compliance workload by roughly 90 percent, while their own compliance teams stay in control of the decisions that matter. The result is compliance that speeds products to market instead of holding them back.
"Jeff has run finance for some of the most complex industrial supply chains in the world, and he did it during periods when regulators were watching every number," said Kunal Chopra, CEO of Certivo. "He knows what compliance costs a manufacturer when it's fragmented across systems and people, and he knows what it takes to build processes that executives and auditors can trust. Our customers are turning compliance into a competitive advantage by getting products to market faster, and Jeff's perspective is exactly what we want in the boardroom as we accelerate that."
During his tenure as GE's CFO, Bornstein led the company's portfolio transformation, including the sale of GE Appliances, the merger of GE Oil & Gas with Baker Hughes, the divestiture of more than $300 billion in GE Capital assets, and the acquisition of Alstom's power and grid businesses. He previously served 12 years as Senior Vice President and CFO of GE Capital, where he guided the business through the 2008 financial crisis and the subsequent onboarding of the Federal Reserve as its primary regulator. Earlier roles included CFO of GE Plastics and CFO of GE Aircraft Engine Services.
Since leaving GE, Bornstein has focused on investing in and advising growth-stage companies. He is the founder and co-managing partner of Whipstick Ventures and managing partner of Generation Capital Partners, and he has served on the boards of Eos Energy Enterprises (NASDAQ: EOSE) and AlloVir, where he chaired the Audit Committee. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Northeastern University and the board of buildOn.
"Every manufacturer I've worked with treats compliance as a tax on getting product out the door, and most of them are managing it in silos that no one can see across," Bornstein said. "Certivo gives leadership one place to see where every product stands against every regulation, with agents doing the collection and validation and people making the calls. That kind of certainty changes how a company plans, and I'm looking forward to helping Kunal and the team bring it to more of the companies that need it."
Bornstein holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
